Sailing Instructions

1. Check boat number
Check carefully if you are on the right boat. (see booking information or SMS)
(VKV1, VKV2 , etc.)

2. Insert the plug(s) into the drain holes

You will find these at the rear left and right on the floor of the boat. Turn or tilt them a quarter turn and they are secured. If they are already in place, that is fine too.

3. Activate boat

Use the buttons at the top of the screen to start, pause, or stop the boat. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU STOPPED THE BOAT, YOU CANNOT TURN IT ON AGAIN!

4. Unplug the power cord.

The power outlet is on the jetty. If the plug is already out, that is not a problem (the sloop can sail for 10-12 hours without charging).

5. Enjoy your trip

Press the round button below the throttle lever and release the boat. You can now start sailing by moving the throttle lever forward or backward. If the lever points upward, no throttle is applied.

6. Ready?

Make sure you return on time! (that’s nice for the next tenant). If there is any damage, please let us know immediately by phone. To end the rental period, click the stop button at the top of this screen. A confirmation message will follow. At the end, ensure that the floor plugs are removed and the electricity plug is back in the socket.

  • Always keep to the right while boating. Professional boating (including round-trip boating) and naturally propelled vessels (sailboats, SUPs, surfers, canoes, etc.) always have the right of way!
  • no loud music, be considerate of the environment.
  • LET OP: Vaar altijd langs de randen van de plas, want midden op de plas wordt hard gevaren door speedboten, wakeboarders, etc. Do not be caught off guard by this, and definitely do not swim there.

Discover the tiny islands

Go on a fun adventure to the islands on the Noorderplas. You cannot simply moor in this protected nature reserve, so please use the jetties that have been specially constructed for this purpose. You have 2 ropes on board, so you can enjoy a nice picnic, sunbathe, or have a great time with the children on the beaches and playgrounds!

Toilet facilities are even available on a number of small islands.

Take a refreshing dip

You will see for yourself: the water on the Vinkeveense Plassen is crystal clear! So it is wonderful for taking a refreshing dip. There is a small ladder at the back of the sloop, which you can use to climb back into the boat.

How long does the battery last?
The size of the batteries are determined so that 7-8 hours of full throttle sailing can be done continuously based on 80 Ampere. In practice, our sloops sail trouble-free throughout the day.

What do I do in case of damage?

If you take the turns calmly, slowing down in time, the chance of damage is extremely small (also be careful sailing backwards near the shore – the propeller is very fragile!). The sloops do not sail fast, so there is no chance of real damage. If it does happen – someone else can also be the cause – always call us(see contact page).

Write down the details of the other party. Also make a damage report with a situation sketch and according to you the cause of the problem.

By the way, there is not much chance that you will damage the sloop itself. The fender, front bumper and aluminum can take a lot. More likely is damage to another boat. As skipper/renter, you accept your own liability. Your third-party insurance sometimes also covers this (provided you haven’t had too much to drink – the “BOB” also applies on the water).
